The 2024 Lord Mayor’s Australia Day Awards recognise Brisbane’s unsung heroes and pay tribute to the people in our community who have gone above and beyond to help improve the lives of others and make the Brisbane of tomorrow even better than the Brisbane of today.
Nominations for the 2024 Lord Mayor’s Australia Day Awards are now open and will close Monday 5pm, 30 October 2023.
Categories and eligibility
The 2024 Lord Mayor’s Australia Day Awards include the following categories.
- Citizen of the Year
nominees must be 31 years of age or older as of 26 January 2024. - Senior Citizen of the Year
Nominees must be 60 years of age or older as of 26 January 2024. - Young Citizen of the Year
Nominees must be 30 years of age as of 26 January 2024. - Australia Day Cultural/Arts Award
No age limitation for nominees. - Australia Day Sports Award
No age limitation for nominees. - Corporate Citizen of the Year
If nominating an individual, nominees must be 18 years of age as of 26 January.
If nominating a business, nominated business must have two or more employees. - Community Event of the Year
Nominated events must have been held in Brisbane during the 2022 calendar year. - Green Heart Award
If nominating an individual, nominees must be 18 years of age or older as of 26 January.
If nominating a organisation, nominated organisation must have two or more members. - Australia Day Achievement Awards
No age limitation for nominees.
