Tuesday 7 November – Lontano

THIS CONCERT IS IN ITHACA AUDITORIUM WITH LIMITED SEATING.

Lontano (Italian for ‘distant’ or ‘far away’) features Anthony Dettori (The Sunburys) and Roz Pappalardo (Women in Docs, The Soldier’s Wife), who live 1000 miles apart but share Italian heritage and a passion for spacious, earthy, alt-country storytelling. Through their remarkable collection of engaging duets, Lontano explore the impact of distance and celebrate the emotional gravity that tugs at the space between people. Most powerfully, the artists’ remote collaborative process gives birth to nuanced narratives, neither fact nor fiction, but viscerally personal, rich with meaning and connection. The result is a compelling abstract of the human journey, seeking wisdom and mutual understanding, and finding that solidarity can be more powerful than the differences in our circumstances or philosophy.

For people who enjoy: Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Johnny Cash and June Carter, Bob Dylan and Joan Baez, Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks, Bobby Gillespie and Jehnny Beth, Feist and Jeff Tweedy.
