THIS CONCERT WILL BE AUSLAN INTERPRETED.

Join these Aussie larrikins on a musical journey around the world featuring songs from Spain, Cuba, France, Italy, Norway, England, Australia, and many more!

Tenori showcases the talents of three of Australia’s powerhouse singers: David Kidd, Stewart Morris and Andrew Pryor. Together they harmonize beautifully, creating a unique blend of opera, musical theatre, jazz, and pop.

Tuesday 13 February – Murder at the Opera

Do you love a good detective or murder mystery? Enjoy a quirky murder mystery featuring 30 opera works by Puccini, Bizet, Verdi, Leoncavallo and more. Delve into the intrigue of classic operas as you experience this captivating tale.

This light-hearted blend of classic opera hits, mystery, and murder features Brisbane opera artists: D’Arne Sleeman, Louise Dorsman, Bernard Wheaton and pianist Mark Connors.

Tuesday 20 February – Passioni Vocali

Experience Passioni Vocali with Raffaele Pierno Neapolitan Tenor and Pianist Leanne Warne. Raffaele Pierno has performed across Europe, Italy and Australasia and for dignitaries and charities such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Rotary International.

He collaborated with orchestras including The Queensland Pops Orchestra (2016). Pianist Leanne Warne has also performed abroad in England, Ireland, Wales, and New Zealand with recent highlights including Opera in the Gardens, Mount Coot-tha, May 2022.

Passioni Vocali showcases some iconic opera masterpieces such as Brindisi from La Traviata and Nessun Dorma alongside popular songs such as That’s Amore and Chopin Nocturne in C# Minor. Join Raffaele and Leanne for this thrilling experience, celebrating the power of the tenor voice and the enchantment of the piano.

Tuesday 27 February – Bobby Alu and Foloi Iulia

Bobby Alu delivers intimate performances suitable for the whole family. With his signature baritone ukulele and use of percussion, Bobby seamlessly blends Polynesian folk, reggae, soul and tropical pop. Complemented by engaging story-telling, Bobby’s featured guest performer, his mother Foloi Iulia, captivates audiences with graceful Samoan dance.

Tuesday 5 March – For the Love of Tony: A Tribute to Tony Bennett

Acclaimed Australian Vocalist, Chris Lloyds, accompanied by the Jamie Rigg Band takes the audience on a musical journey celebrating the iconic songs and life of Tony Bennett. This show features timeless standards that will take the audience on an unforgettable journey of heartfelt stories and classic melodies, including ‘I Left My Heart In San Francisco’, ‘The Shadow Of Your Smile’, and ‘Stranger In Paradise’.

Tuesday 5 March, 1.15pm – ORGAN RECITAL – Andrej Kouznetsov

Assistant Director of Music at St John’s Cathedral in Brisbane is performing a concert on the iconic Father Henry Willis Organ.

Tuesday 12 March – Guanaco Trio

Guanaco Trio, an Argentine folkloric instrumental project, weaves original compositions and traditional melodies into a virtuosic performance. Laura Urteaga (violin), Owen Henry Salomé (bandoneón), and Benjamin Aedo (guitar) present their debut album Bajo un Mismo Cielo (Under the Same Sky), released in February 2023 under Shagrada Medra.

Formed in 2020 at the Bachelor of Argentine Music program, their deep passion for Argentina’s folk music has graced stages across Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Europe, receiving the 2022 Argentina Florece grant from Instituto Nacional de la Musica (INAMU), enabling them to record their debut album at Estudios ION, Buenos Aires.

Tuesday 19 March – Down in Hollywood: A Tribute to Little Feat

Brisbane-based guitar-slinger and singer, Dana Gehrman, delivers nostalgia with her latest album, ‘Down in Hollywood’. Paying tribute to the great song writing of legendary band Little Feat, this Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concert will feature songs from their 1969-1979 period including; ‘Willin’, ‘Roll Um Easy’ and ‘Easy To Slip’.

Drawing inspiration from the 70’s West Coast music era, Gehrman blends soul, funk, rock and blues, while showcasing unfaltering vocals. Following the success of her debut album ‘Find A Way’, Gehrman has shared stages with renowned artists such as Tim Rogers (You Am I) and Mick Thomas (Weddings, Parties, Anything).

Tuesday 26 March – RMT’s Tribute Made in the UK

RMT’s Tribute Made in the UK, pays homage to British music legends including Andrew Lloyd Webber, The Beatles, Elton John, The Spice Girls, Adele, Robbie Williams, Rowan Atkinson and Monty Python.

This unique variety concert combines the best of British music theatre, pop, rock, traditional music and comedy. Experience the essence of the Royal Variety Performance. So, make sure to wear your pearls, wave a Union Jack flag, and join us for an unforgettable British musical journey.

Phillip’s programme explores the colours and moods of the grand Willis organ, featuring music ranging from the grand to the lyrical.

Tuesday 2 April – Andrews Sisters Tribute

The original Andrews Sisters trio active during WW2, spread joy through patriotic duties, war-time entertainment, and autograph for troops. This ensemble revives their classic tunes like ‘Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy’, ‘Rum & Coca Cola’ & ‘Chattanooga Choo Choo,’ featuring lively vocals, backing riffs from the Boogie Beatu Horns, and a swinging rhythm section.

With a mix of modern tunes in the original Andrews Sisters’ style, the show is suitable for the younger audiences. Whether it’s a trip down memory lane or something more recent, join us for a memorable experience!

Tuesday 9 April – Celtic Queens

Immerse yourself in the Celtic sounds of Susanna O’Leary and Wendy Lang. Blending their lush vocals, Susanna and Wendy will perform classics like ‘Danny Boy’, contemporary favourites like The Corrs’, ‘Runaway’ and Enya’s ‘May It Be’, and upbeat instrumental jigs.

Susanna and Wendy have performed at Brisbane City Hall, Brisbane Powerhouse, Woodford Folk Festival, Mosaic Festival, Valley Fiesta, and more. In recent years, they have been regularly spotted performing St Patrick’s Day shows on the Queen Street Mall Main Stage.

Tuesday 16 April – From East to West

This concert will include a selection of melodious works for flute (Dr Karen Lonsdale), cello (Renat Yusupov), and piano (Dr Hila Yusupov) by composers from the East to the West.

Then enjoy a fascinating musical trip with Francis Gilfedder around the monsoonal countries of India, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia, China, and Japan. Experience a diverse set of traditional flutes and other instruments, including the tabla, pungi, or snake charmer’ danmoi jaw harp, crafted from a Vietnam War bullet, and the khaen, an ancestor of the pipe organ.

Tuesday 23 April – Aaron Jansz presents: The Music of Rogers and Hart

Composer Richard Rogers and lyricist Lorenz Hart created 28 stage musicals and over 500 songs, many of which have become established classics within ‘The Great American Songbook’. Some of their century-old songs have been performed and recorded by artists including Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, Harry Connick Jr., and Diana Krall.

Performed by an exceptional ensemble of Brisbane musicians, led by drummer Aaron Jansz, this program celebrates the prolific duo’s work, featuring original and inspired arrangements of classic show tunes, including songs from Babe in Arms, The Boy From Syracuse and Pal Joey.

Evoke Dance and Theatre Company will fill your senses with an extravagant celebration of the rich and colourful cultures of South America and the Caribbean embracing music and dance.

Tuesday 7 May – Queensland Police Pipes & Drums

The Queensland Police Pipes & Drums (QPP&D) was originally formed in 1958 by a keen and committed group of police officers wishing to both represent the QPS and compete in pipe band competitions.

Today, the QPP&D’s professional musicians perform at official engagements such as Police and Corrective Services graduations, Government House events, Anzac Day and National Police Remembrance Day, enhancing formal proceedings.

QPP&D serves the Queensland community by regularly performing at charity and community events. QPP&D perform at Retirement Living and Aged Care facilities providing crime prevention information to residents as well as performing their Kops in Kilts program at primary schools, featuring old favourites such as ‘The Black Bear’ and ‘Scotland the Brave,’ and surprising many with their energetic take on ‘The Mexican Hat Dance’.

Tuesday 14 May – Guitarra e Cuarteto

In collaboration with the Black Square Quartet, Spanish guitarist Andrew Veivers presents a program of new music inspired by his life, relationships and connection to community. One of Australia’s finest Spanish guitarists, Andrew Veivers has established himself as a director, producer, concert artist and composer of the highest calibre. He is joined on stage by the Black Square Quartet featuring Camille Barry (Violin), Sarah Curro (Violin), Michael Patterson (Viola) and Dan Curro (Cello).

Tuesday 21 May – A Celebration of Great Piano Music – Lev Vlassenko Piano Academy 2024

The Lev Vlassenko Piano Academy presents a special piano celebration concert, featuring selected Piano Academy participants including the upcoming 2024 Lev Vlassenko and Young Lev Vlassenko Piano Competitions, with well-known and loved piano works.

The 2024 competitions feature the finest young pianists aged between 6 and 30, from across Australia and New Zealand, competing at an international level. The Grand Finals will feature six Finalists – three from each competition – performing with the acclaimed Queensland Symphony Orchestra on 13 July 2024.

Tuesday 28 May – Classic Brass and Majestic Organ

Experience timeless elegance with the power of classic brass and pipe organ music and join the Queensland Conservatorium of Music Brass Ensemble through musical history, featuring well-known classics and iconic movie themes, including the beautiful Saint Saens Symphony No. 3 in C Minor. Conducted by Howard Taylor, the ensemble returns along with Churchill Fellowship recipient and organist for St. Stephens Cathedral, Dominic Perissinotto, performing on the famous Father Henry Willis Organ.
