Detailed design of the Hoyland Street Upgrade is complete with construction works set to begin in early 2021. This is a crucial east-west arterial road that connects Bald Hills and Bracken Ridge through to Sandgate. This $12 million investment forms part of a $500 million partnership with the Federal Government, working on getting you home quicker and safer.
This project will focus on widening a 900m strip of the existing roadway, taking the full corridor to four lanes. Motorists will enjoy reduced travel times during peak periods and it will increase accessibility to active transport options on Hoyland Street. Additionally, there will be improved safety for road users, pedestrians and cyclists with the installation of approximately 800m of guard rail and upgrading to LED street lighting. Hoyland Street is one of many congestion busting projects in Bracken Ridge Ward with Beams Road and Norris Road also set for upgrades. The Norris and Barbour Roads roundabout has also been funded for upgrading. For up-to-date information on these projects, follow me on Facebook.
