Local netball clubs now have a place to call home with four new district-grade netball courts on Telegraph Road now complete. This $7 million project was delivered to address the shortage of netball facilities and meet the growing need for community sporting hubs in the city’s northern suburbs. The sport and recreation precinct continues to thrive as we work to deliver more leisure and lifestyle opportunities. As part of a $1.5million investment into Council’s animal shelters, the Warra Rehoming Shelter operated by Animal Welfare League Queensland will receive a suite of upgrades. Works will include a new welcoming area, a retail shop-front, work spaces to support the administration team and an interactive space for face-to-face contact with adoptable animals. Excitingly, there will be even more for our four-legged friends to enjoy with the installation of a dog off-leash area within the precinct, adjacent to the netball facility. This project is currently in the design phase and I look forward to welcoming the community once open.
