Brisbane residents are invited to submit their best snaps with the 2024 Lord Mayor’s Photography Awards now open.

This year’s theme ‘Brisbane in its best light’ encourages photographers of all abilities to share the places, people, and experiences that make our city shine brightly.

Entrants go into the running to win cash prizes from $1000 to $5000, with a total of more than $15,000 available across eight categories.

Some of the categories include the Open Category Winner, Student, Green Heart, Social Media and People’s Choice.

The LaVonne Bobongie Award is a unique category that recognises the late artist’s contribution to Brisbane as an advocate of First Nations Country, community and identity.

Since 2013, the Lord Mayor’s Photographic Awards has collectively awarded $153,500 to local photographers.

“Brisbane is renowned for having the best lifestyle in Australia and I can’t wait to see how it’s captured in this year’s entries,” Cr Schrinner said.

Entries are now open on Council’s website to anyone who lives, works, or studies in Brisbane.

Applications close at 4pm on Friday 7 June 2024.
