Tuesday 21 February 2023 – Angel Strings
Sit back and close your eyes as Angel Strings perform your favourite movie themes, old and new. From the strains of Boccherini as featured in Master and Commander to Ennio Morricone’s beautiful ‘Gabriel’s Oboe’ from The Mission, there will be something for everyone. The sumptuous sounds of the string quartet will also serenade you with music from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Schindler’s List, Amelie, James Bond and 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Tuesday 28 February 2023 – Tenor US
After sell-out shows across Queensland, Tenor US, featuring former Ten Tenors’ Roger Davy and Broadway star Adam Bartlett, present this fabulous must-see concert. These masters in voice combine glorious melodies from famous opera, swing and rock, with songs from Broadway and West End, to create a performance of laughing, singing and dancing. Highlights include songs by Queen, Tom Jones, and Ed Sheeran; Broadway favourites with excerpts from Phantom of the Opera and La Cage aux Folles, as well as tributes to Andrea Boccelli and Josh Groban.

Tuesday 7 March 2023 – Chamber Classics and Beyond
Jacaranda String Quartet presents a concert highlighting a series of classical and new music to the Brisbane community. Seeking to challenge the role of the modern string quartet, their curation explores a range of classical music and emotive themes.
Based in Brisbane, founding members and Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University candidates Julia Hill, Claire Litwinowicz, Kyle Brady and Ariana Dedecius, have collectively performed in a range of settings from orchestral halls to intimate private recitals. They have each garnered orchestral, chamber and solo performance skills throughout their studies and have participated in esteemed programs such as the Australian and Queensland Youth Orchestras.

Tuesday 14 March 2023 – Bach, Liszt, Koehne and Co
Italy-based, Australian organist David Reccia Chynoweth, presents a tribute to the great organ masters with works from the Renaissance period to the present day, including compositions and transcriptions of his own.
David began piano lessons at the age of six and received musical tuition throughout his childhood in Canberra and Singapore. As an adult, David moved to Italy to complete his studies in organ, piano, harpsichord, and composition and later at the University of Music in Vienna, Austria, where he was awarded his Master of Music in Organ Performance. David is a regular participant in prestigious international organ and music festivals, and performs in Austria, USA, Spain, Germany, and Italy.

Tuesday 21 March 2023 – Mal Wood: Stories My Father Shared with Me
Enjoy this heartwarming and engaging concert presented by Mal Wood, bringing to life the music of Mal’s grandmother, Lilian Smith, who performed at Brisbane City Hall in the 1930s and ’40s, and Mal’s father Steve, who also performed at Brisbane City Hall, across three decades into the 1970s.
This magical show features songs that capture moments in time and pay homage to an era where music was always performed live and with meaning. It’s a story of three generations of musical adventures of fun and laughter that will touch your heart, and have you singing along with City Hall favourite Mal, and his band.

A lavish fusion of sultry French cabaret with fiery Latin passion, this concert will take you on a journey through the vibrant and effervescent, all-immersive world of art, music, dance, and theatre. A delicious blend of dance with hints of Moulin Rouge, a dash of jazz, a twist of bossa nova, the spice of Tango, and finally, garnished with Latin zest. A delight to the senses with music that will transport you to France and Germany, through to Spain, Portugal, and Brazil and leave you longing for more!

Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concerts presents One More Time: Journey through Jazz, Funk, Pop and Latin. Nathan Parker and Ernesto Alcala are One More Time, performing a unique combination of piano and saxophone in the perfect blend of musicianship, elegance, and creativity. They bring their passion and excitement to an eclectic repertoire that moves audiences to tap their feet while recalling some of the most remarkable songs ever written!

Tuesday 11 April 2023 – Tribute to Ray Charles
No other musician in Australia plays Ray Charles quite like Jeff Usher. Blind since birth and a pianist, singer, composer and arranger like Ray, his music has been present in Jeff’s life from a young age, having played his own tributes to him since 1999. In this special concert Jeff will lead his six-piece band, Jeff Usher’s Jazz Unit, through some of Ray Charles classics including ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You’, ‘Unchain My Heart’, ‘Hit the Road, Jack’, and ‘You Don’t Know Me’.

Tuesday 18 April 2023 – Swing Dance Spectacular
The Van Dijk 4 and Corner Pocket Swing bring vintage jazz and swing dancing together on the big stage for this ‘Swing Dance Spectacular’. Everyone is in the mix in this jumpin’ jazz joint as dancers elbow their way past double bass players and ‘Balboa’ and ‘Lindy Hop’ their way through showdowns and swing-outs as trouser legs shuffle and flying skirts twirl about the glorious Brisbane City Hall stage.

Tuesday 2 May 2023 – A Tribute to Music Theatre
Delight in the talents of ROAR Performing Arts Academy as they present a song and dance spectacular, celebrating some of Brisbane’s finest young talent. You will want to dance along with some of the popular numbers from musical theatre including hits from Oliver, Once Upon This Island, Frozen and more. Directed by Madeleine Johns, the show is filled with dance, colourful costumes, sensational singing and inspired choreography. A concert not to be missed!

What is it about music that evokes such strong and lasting memories? A great song can take you back to important events in your life like a time machine. In their brand new show, Tenori presents classic songs from significant moments in their life, and yours.
A trio of powerhouse Queensland tenors, Tenori met while touring internationally with The Ten Tenors and have remained friends for over twenty years. With a combined seventy years’ experience in the industry, David Kidd, Stewart Morris and Andrew Pryor know exactly how to put on a dynamic, uplifting and hugely entertaining show. They bring their sense of fun and sophistication to classics from the worlds of opera, musical theatre, jazz and everything in between. Individually they have beautiful voices and together they sing like the band of brothers they are, with the camaraderie and precision that only more than a decade of harmonising together can bring.

Tuesday 23 May 2023 – A Coronation Celebration: Music Fit for a King
Celebrate the coronation in grand style with Howard Taylor and his Conservatorium Brass Band, the Queensland Police Pipes and Drums, and the Brisbane City Hall Organ for an unforgettable royal musical event.
Immerse yourself in the grandeur of City Hall bathed in the colours of the Union Jack, as Englishman Howard Taylor takes the baton to commemorate this grand occasion with the music that made Britain great and the music favoured by the King. With the pomp and ceremony of the City Hall Organ, played by Dr Phillip Gearing, the Conservatorium Brass Band and the Queensland Police Pipes and Drums, this is Britain at its flag-waving best.

Tuesday 30 May 2023 – Baroque Delights
THIS CONCERT IS IN THE ITHACA AUDITORIUM WITH LIMITED SEATING.
Experience passionate baroque music written by favourite composers Vivaldi, Handel and JS Bach and performed by Arioso Chamber Ensemble. All leading specialists in baroque performance, Judit Molnar (soprano), Margaret Caley (baroque violin), Daniel Curro (baroque cello) and Janet Brewer (harpsichord) delight audiences with their polished and stylish performances of arias and instrumental repertoire. Formed in January 2014 for the Music by the Sea Festival in Sandgate, they have since performed at many other festivals and concert series, including 4MBS Festival of Classics, Maryborough Regional Arts Council, Caloundra Fringe Festival and New England Bach Festival.
