Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has extended a new lifeline to sports clubs and other community groups hit by COVID restrictions, with the new $3million Better Suburbs Grants program announced.

Many local sports clubs and community groups have been impacted by snap lockdowns and restrictions, forced to cover the cost of maintaining their facilities and fields while games are cancelled. Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner wants to make sure our sports clubs and community groups remain viable through these difficult times.

Having the pleasure of working with and supporting a multitude of community groups and their projects, I have seen firsthand what this funding can do for our local community. I strongly encourage all Bracken Ridge Ward community groups and not-for-profit organisations to investigate whether they are eligible for funding.
