The Schrinner Council is helping families keep the kids entertained without breaking the bank these school holidays with almost 700 free and affordable activities on offer.
Between December and January there are activities for all ages and interests on offer as part of our plan to create more to see and do across the suburbs.
With almost 80 per cent of the program completely free, here are some top tips for keeping kids occupied over the school holidays.
Make a splash with $2 Summer Dips
Back by popular demand the $2 Summer Dips program makes swimming this summer even better.
For just $2 a person, residents of all ages can cool off at any of Council’s 22 pools across the city.
By reducing entry fees, more people can visit a Council pool to relax, stay healthy and cool off this summer for less.
Live it up at Brisbane Libraries
Our libraries are the perfect place for bookworms to explore stories galore as part of the Summer Reading Challenge.
As well as being home to our extensive library catalogue, our libraries will host more than 370 free events including classes and workshops to learn a new skills, live performances for kids and even movie screenings over the holidays.

Plan a perfect day out at some of Brisbane’s best cultural venues, with the Museum of Brisbane, Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium and Brisbane Powerhouse all offering great holiday programs.

Have a wheely good time at our cycle parks
Brisbane’s newest cycling destinations the Victoria Park Urban Pump Track and Brisbane International Cycle Park are the perfect place for riders to let loose over the school holidays.
Cycling Brisbane will also offer more than 20 workshops over the holiday break across the suburbs to help improve bike skills for riders of all levels.
