Council is opening three more temporary sandbag sites for residents to self-serve and protect their property.
Council has already opened temporary sites at:
- Acacia Ridge – Mortimer Road Park
- Toowong – Old Toowong Bowls Club, Corner Gailey Road and Heroes Avenue
- Camp Hill – Whites Hill Reserve, off Boundary Road
- Boondall – Boondall Entertainment Centre carpark
Additional temporary sites now open:
- West End – Davies Park
- Darra – Atthows Park
- Murarrie – Murarrie Recreation Reserve.
Residents are advised to bring their own shovel and cable ties. Residents can bring their own bags if they have them, but bags will also be available.
Traffic control and SES volunteers will be in place to assist residents.
Sandbags are also available for collection from the following locations:
- Darra – 38 Shamrock Road, Darra
- Morningside – 9 Redfern Street, Morningside
- Newmarket – 66 Wilston Road (in carpark off Erneton Street), Newmarket
- Zillmere – 33 Jennings Street, Zillmere
- Lota – Herbert Street, Lota.
