Tuesday 4 June – Artemii Safonov

This concert will feature a wide range of piano works, ranging from the well-celebrated classics to the hidden gems of the Western piano repertoire, performed by young pianist and composer Artemii Safonov.

Enjoy a wonderfully rich musical experience filled with pieces that will take you on a journey and tell a story, from the classical and romantic eras all the way up to the 20th century and modern day. During this concert, you’ll experience a fascinating hour of music filled with dazzling pianistic technique and rich musicality, with a diverse piano program taking the forefront. Tuesday 11 June – Songs and Soiree

Experience the beauty and power of music with Songs and Soiree. This exceptional event features three talented voices including Sopranos Luisa Tarnawski and Gabrielle Jack and former Ten Tenor Roger Davy.

You’ll be taken on an unforgettable musical journey from beloved opera classics to popular musical hits. Enjoy a variety of selections, ranging from Mozart’s romantic Letter Duet, to the mesmerising Phantom of the Opera, the enchanting Cosi Fan Tutte, Romeo and Juliette and the powerful Nessun Dorma. Further to this, popular songs by Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman and the rollicking drinking song by La Traviata will be performed. This is a concert to delight and charm all lovers of music and song.

Tuesday 18 June – Pauline Maudy Presents: Songs from ‘Take me to Paris’

After a string of successful Australian and international tours, French-born, award-winning singer Pauline Maudy presents songs from her show, Take Me to Paris – a show inspired by her experience of growing up in two places and an exploration of community, connection, memories, and belonging.

One of the truly rare voices on the international world scene, Pauline effortlessly channels the greats in French and English, transporting audiences from Parisian alleyways to New York jazz bars in a heartbeat. An accomplished singer and songwriter, Pauline was named Artist of the Year 2023 at the Australian Folk Music Awards and has received three Queensland Music Awards for her compositions and co-compositions with ensemble MZAZA.

Pauline is joined on stage by some of Queensland’s finest musicians from Australia and Europe, including Peta Wilson (piano), Mircha Mangiacotti (guitar), and Emma Hales (cello/double bass).

Tuesday 25 June – Organ Music for the Soul

Sydney’s City Organist, Titus Grenyer, presents an organ recital for the musical soul. Combining a love for sharing accessible music with a daring interpretation of conventional organ repertoire, this program extends the meaning of an organ recital with transcriptions of famous music, alongside works of old masters rarely heard on the organ.

The organ of the Brisbane City Hall will come alive with the colour and verve of Titus’ performance and desire to communicate with the soul. Titus is one of Australia’s leading young organists, as well as the Director of Music at Our Lady of Dolours in Chatswood. An active teacher, conductor and composer, Titus will also perform his own music in the program, bringing organ repertoire into the 21st century.

Tuesday 2 July – Blowing off the Roof

The John Coulton Brass (JCB) comprises some of the ten best Orchestral Brass players in Australia.

Featuring a concert of music by renowned composers including Mozart, Jeremiah Clarke, Chris Hazell, Hoagy Carmichael, Henry Mancini and even Freddie Mercury. Majestic splendour, spine tingling moments, and truly triumphant sound is the order of the day along with an entertaining program designed to be fun-filled and appealing to all audiences.

Under the direction of Trumpet soloist John Coulton, the JCB are dedicated to presenting creative and engaging performances including established masterpieces, innovative new works for Brass and collaborations with local and international artists.

Tuesday 9 July – The Larman & Brothers Jazz Quintet

The Larman & Brothers Jazz Quintet, comprising Meredith Brothers (piano), Stephanie Larman (vocals), Jeremy Klysz (double bass), Joe Rutledge(drums), and Ken Chow (tenor saxophone), formed during their Bachelor of Jazz Music Degree in Brisbane.

The group brings a fresh take on the Great American Songbook offering original renditions of classics like ‘Fly Me to the Moon’, ‘Georgia on My Mind’ and ‘The Girl from Ipanema’. Their educational backgrounds and passion for jazz ensure a rich, dynamic performance, blending nostalgic melodies with innovative arrangements. This performance promises an engaging afternoon of timeless jazz not to be missed.

Tuesday 16 July – Songs from the Great American Songbook

Bye Bye Blackbird, Folsom Prison Blues, Honeysuckle Rose, Don’t Get Around Much Anymore, What a Wonderful World, Yesterday. You will be hearing these songs again for the first time. Let the guitar tear out your heart again, let the drums move your body again, let the piano make you weep again, let the singer make you laugh at love again.

Tuesday 23 July – The Beehives

THIS CONCERT IS AUSLAN INTERPRETED.

After solo careers in television, musical theatre and corporate events on an international platform, Gold Coast entertainers The Beehives have teamed up to relive an unforgettable era of style and music. The Beehives, starring Miss Mandy, Lee, Tamara and Shelly, sing and dance their way through the hits of the 60’s and 70’s.

Revisit the music of the girl groups who dominated the airwaves, The Shirelles, The Ronettes, The Crystals and of course the number one girls on the Motown label, The Supremes. Remember the dance crazes with Let’s Twist Again, Land Of A Thousand Dances and Shake Your Tailfeather. The soulful tunes of Dusty, Aretha, Shirley Bassy and Carole King. Moving into the hit parade with Lulu, Cher, Abba, Tina Turner and many more.

Tuesday 30 July – Danny Widdicombe’s Aloha Boys

Back by popular demand, Aloha Boys return with soulful story-telling, humour and superb musicianship uniting this unique trio, whose music pays no attention to boundaries. Calypso, country-blues, Bossa Nova, retro tunes and original songs all find their way into mesmerising shows that feature Australia’s pedal-steel guitar maestro Michel Rose, the fluid, percussive grooves of Kym Ambrose and the heartfelt vocals and Chet Atkins finger-pickin’ Gretsch vibes of ARIA nominated Danny Widdicombe.

Danny is well known to City Hall audiences as the front man of The Honey Sliders, who have brought the house down with their Beatles and Neil Young tribute shows. Michel Rose is the most in-demand pedal-steel guitarist in Australia, with a full dance card at the Tamworth Country Music Festival every year, and a history of touring and recording with some of the country’s most loved artists. Rounding out the trio, Kym Ambrose brings his innate musicality to the drum kit, and the experience of 45 years in the jazz, country, soul and Brazilian musical realms. This is a concert to sooth the soul.

Tuesday 6 August – Rockin’ Country Blues

Country and Blues artist, Steve Sparrow together with his three piece group, The Memphis Meerkats, showcase the connection between country, blues and rock’n’roll music. Enjoy the music and stories behind the artists who created this genre – Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, John Fogerty, Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry, Charley Daniels, The Eagles and more. Singer songwriter/guitarist Steve Sparrow won a Gold Guitar in New Zealand and is widely known throughout the Australian country music scene. Steve has received chart topping success and his latest album ‘Now And Forever’ has been nominated for a number of song writing awards.

Tuesday 13 August – Round the World Bucket List

Celebrate the beauty of a 60 piece wind orchestra from Mansfield State High School as they transport you on a journey on a ‘Round The World Bucket List’ celebrating the melodies you know and love.

This talented group of 60 young musicians will entertain you with music from Classical through to Pop culminating in a grand finale. Joining the orchestra will be some fabulous vocalists and the talented featured flautist Taylee Rofe who will have you tapping the beat along to some of your favourite songs.

Tuesday 20 August – Fusion X

Fronted by the charismatic singer Jules Strickland, Fusion X produces a unique blend of funk, disco and soul music performed at their best to provide the ultimate experience in entertainment.

With its members originating from Mauritius, Germany, Australia and Spain, Fusion X is an eclectic mixture of rich musical backgrounds.

Bound by a mutual love of music, their dedication to perform at a high level of musicianship with a great sound production will captivate any audience from start to end.

Tuesday 27 August – Tribute to Michael Bublé

This Tribute to Michael Bublé features the smooth sounds of the Brisbane-based Mood Music Swing Band and special guest vocalist Gary Holley. Michael Bublé’s timeless classics have redefined the essence of modern swing music and Mood Music takes you on a journey from his early classics such as ‘I’ve Got You Under My Skin’ to Bublé’s own dance number ‘Sway’, to a showcase of Bublé’s modern interpretations which blend the traditional with the contemporary.
