A stunning new playground akin to a miniature theme park has been opened in Brisbane’s north just in time for the school holidays.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the revolutionary new playscape at Bradbury Park in Kedron will attract families from right across Brisbane.
“Brisbane is Australia’s lifestyle capital and our incredible network of more than 2,100 parks has helped create that reputation,” he said.
“We are investing record amounts in parks, playgrounds and greenspaces throughout Brisbane’s suburbs because we know how valued they are by families.
Bradbury Park is an amazing example of how we’re taking playground upgrades to the next level.
I’m confident families who experience Bradbury Park will all acknowledge that it’s one of Brisbane’s best.
In fact, I’m sure my four kids are going to want me to bring them back to Bradbury Park time and time again.”
Bradbury Park brings to life the innovative concept of a biological city, with hollow towers, by-ways and bridges that are perfect for older children looking for adventure.
Designed to seamlessly blend with the park’s natural surroundings, the playscape incorporates existing and newly planted greenery, with the project including 4700 new plantings.
Other recent upgrades include a nature play space for younger kids, scooter track, dog park, toilet block, expanded carpark and basketball court.
Marchant Ward Councillor Fiona Hammond said the Bradbury Park playscape, which came after significant community consultation, will encourage families to embrace the outdoors and spend some quality time together.
Bradbury Park is located at 91 Kitchener Road, Kedron.
