“Brisbane City Council & BrisStyle are calling all Brisbane based makers to apply for a 20 week Maker Entrepreneurship Program.
The program will equip you with the skills, tools, resources and community to build and maintain your emerging creative business, and gain support to sell your products online and in person! This program is fully subsidised by Brisbane City Council, therefore is no cost to successful applicants to participate.

WHAT: 2022 Maker Entrepreneurship Program
APPLICATIONS OPEN: Monday November 1st and Close Sunday November 21st at midnight. APPLY HERE
All Applicants will be notified whether successful or not, by Friday December 10th 2021.
WHEN: The program runs for 20 weeks from Monday January 24th – Sunday June 12th 2022.
TIME: Various (there will be some daytime and evening face to face sessions and some online work). It is expected that each participant dedicates a minimum of 5 hours per week to the program outcomes as well as attending any in person sessions scheduled.
WHERE: Various locations that will be close to public transport and offer easy parking.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
BrisStyle Inc. will be facilitating a Maker Entrepreneurship Program for 15 Brisbane creative makers looking to grow and ensure the sustainability of their small businesses. This program is suited to a maker that has started selling their handmade products, has stock on hand and is committed to growing their business and taking it to the next level.
If you want to learn and develop the necessary skills, tools and resources to do this, then this is the program for you. Join a supportive community and receive the training, mentoring and encouragement to help you market and grow your maker business.
The program is only open to residents that reside within the Brisbane City Council Local Government Area. All participants must be willing to commit to the entire program (internet access will be required) and it is expected all participants will have an active online store ready to trade by March 30th and attend an in-person BrisStyle market by mid May 2022.

The program has been designed to fit into your schedule over the course of the 20 weeks but it is a must that all participants have a minimum of 5 hours per week to contribute to their success of the program, plus attend any in person sessions scheduled. The program will consist of face-to-face workshops (venue and times TBC), online learning modules, online communities and one-on-one online peer mentoring and we will be teaming you up with some amazing mentors from the creative industries to help and guide you every step of the way, including Renee & Angela from Dalton Baker Productions, Rachel Kimberley and Kirsten Devitt from Each to Own to name a few.
This Program will equip the cohort of creative makers with the skills, tools, resources and community / sense of connectedness to build and maintain their creative business, grow their own online shops plus participate in local market events and events to boost the local creative economy.”
