Norris Road upgrades
Early works — service relocation
“Brisbane City Council is pleased to advise that early works for the Norris Road upgrades at Bracken Ridge will commence in late January 2021.
Council will be undertaking early works to relocate a number of utility services located in the area surrounding the Norris Road and Barbour Road intersection prior to the start of construction works.
These works will be undertaken by the service provider as part of the project and involve Telstra, Energex, Urban Utilities, TPG and NBN.
Council anticipates some minor service outages during these works however, advance notice will be provided to affected properties by the service provider.
Early works are scheduled to start from late January 2021 and are anticipated to take approximately four months to complete, weather and site conditions permitting.
Telstra service relocation
The first stage of works will involve relocating several Telstra pits from the road corridor to the verge in the area surrounding the intersection. Council will provide advance notification prior to the start of future stages of service relocations.
Works will take place Monday to Friday, between 7am and 5pm, weather and site conditions permitting. Some out-of-hours works may be required, with advance notification provided to local residents and businesses prior to the start of works.
Temporary lane and footpath closures will be required at times as part of these works, with traffic control on site to direct motorists and pedestrians where required. Norris Road and Barbour Road will remain open during these works however, motorists may experience some delays.
The Norris Road upgrades are jointly funded by Council as part of the Better Roads for Brisbane program and the Australian Government as part of the Urban Congestion Fund program.
